Biography
Introduction
My Name is Alfredo Smith and I have a passion for graphic design. I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, class of 2013. I graduated with my bachelors degree in graphic design in which I have also learned web design. I intend to use my degree to propell me into my dream job as a graphic designer for NIKE or Jordan, designing logos for various players' apparel.
Childhood
Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina as a child, I was always one of the best, if not, the best artist in the class. I have had my art work in the newspaper, phonebooks, and in various public showcases. I was the traditional pencil and paper artist, drawing solely from imagination and inspiration. I would log onto the classic packard bell computer just to use the imfamous paint program. I grew to love making logos especially for NBA players as a sophmore in high school. It was not until my senior year in high school that I was enlightened by the Art Institutes' recruiters of endless career opportunites in Graphic Design. This was the beginning of a life changing experience.
College
I decided to take my talents to south florida to hone my skills as an artist at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I decided upon graphic design as my major. I picked up a part time at Publix Supermarkets to help pay my way through college as a full-time student. I have been privaleged to have interned at City Furniture as a graphic designer. I learned a great deal in a corporate and professional environment with the marketing team. I also interned at FETCHbranding, a local advertising agency who helped me become an adept designer. My experience as an intern and a student at the Art Institute have developed my ken for graphic design in its entirety.
